Redevelopment Project

St Andrews sunshine small

Thank You – from St Andrew’s Church Kettering

We have just celebrated the completion of our £450,000 new flooring, stage and underfloor heating project. Thank you to everyone who has supported us financially and prayerfully as this enabled the development to go ahead.

The project, although many years in the planning, was started at the end of 2023 and completed in May 2024. The church was shut from New Year until the end of May, and we held our weekly services and some Arts Centre events in our rooms and hall.

Since reopening the church has had new chairs delivered which with tables, funded by a NNC grant, the bar and kitchen area make the space suitable for a variety of events.

We are looking forward to running many events for the church and local community in the new warm, flexible area. We have already hosted the local primary school, theatre companies, choirs, comedians, art exhibitions, cake sales, town council meetings, quiz nights and bingo in the space alongside our normal services and groups.

While we are delighted with the outcome and are excited by the newfound flexibility, we are already considering our next project, although this is not quite as ambitious. We have a faculty (permission) to install electric blinds at the windows of the church which will allow us to provide a dark space for film and afternoon performances and enhance daytime worship.  Within the faculty there is also permission to upgrade our existing lighting and develop our servery / bar area.  Once we have some formal quotes we will be looking to apply for grants. We have already started fundraising for a new projector.

See below for pictures of the work in progress and our end result.
