MEET THE MINISTRY TEAM
VICAR: Revd Nick Wills. Nick is our resident Vicar, comedian and Ipswich supporter. He is Married to Becky, who is the Archdeaconry of Northampton Youth Missioner, and they have two sons Jamie and Matty.
ASSISTANT PRIESTS: Revd Morey and Revd Peter Gompertz. Morey had her Curacy with St Andrews and loved it so much that she stayed on as Assistant Priest and got her husband Peter to join her! When they are not busy with parish life or their other many roles with the Diocese they can be found sewing or sketching or spending time with their children and grandchildren. Peter often leads the Wednesday 10.00am service, and Morey the Sunday 8.00am service, as well as them both being very involved with leading and preaching at the 9.30am service and in other roles in the life of our Church.
CHURCHWARDENS: John Weaver and Debbie Cox are our Churchwardens. They have been elected as leaders in our Church by our members. One of the focuses of the role of Churchwarden is on the maintenance and upkeep of the building. John and Debbie are very grateful for all of the help that they receive in this from so many people from cleaners through the gardening team to those who offer practical skills and experience in particular areas. John is also very involved with some of the Financial and Administrative areas of our Church’s life, and Debbie is taking a lead in our Church redevelopment project.
CHURCH INTERNS: Imogen Kelleher and Shakeel Nurmahi – Imogen and Shakeel are St Andrew’s two church interns. They work with St Andrew’s as a part of Peterborough Diocese’s intern schemes – Expect and Echo. Imogen is our youth ministry intern and spends most of her time working with the youth and young people of St Andrew’s. Shakeel is our ministry experience intern. He loves being a part of so many of the amazing ministries at St Andrew’s as he is exploring further church ministry.
Val Bedwell-“I’m Val I’m a Reader at St Andrews. I absolutely love being a Reader and I often take services in many of our rural churches. (Often preaching to a congregation of 4-6 people). I’m a very busy nurse, working in three prisons leading the healthcare teams.”
