We are now more than half way into our July Appeal and we have already raised nearly £1,500. If you would like to donate to this fundraiser, all proceeds will go to the work of the church. If you would prefer to give online, click the link below or if you prefer to give by cash or cheque you can use one of the yellow envelopes at the back of church to give with gift aid to the July appeal.

CANCELLATION – The Variations Choir Concert on 23rd July at London Road URC has regrettably been cancelled due to covid amongst the choir

YORKSHIRE GARDEN PARTY: 2-5pm 30th July at 28 Hall Lane Kettering. Come and enjoy tea/coffee and a range of Yorkshire delicacies plus Raffle and Quizzes. Ticket £4 (unlimited tea/coffee & slice of cake. Further cakes can be purchased) from Jill Dove, Sue Ogden, Malcolm Robinson or John Weaver – or pay at the gate. Proceeds to Church Development Project

WALKING GROUP: Fri 5th Aug. Annual tea & “cakewalk” along the River Ise to Warkton and Weekley (path permitting). Various lengths – 4.25 miles (to Weekley) or 2.7 miles (to Warkton only). Meet at 10, St Amandas Close at 1.30pm. Tea & cakes served after the walk. If you don’t want to walk just come for the cake! All are welcome but please tell us if you are coming. Many thanks. ST ANDREWS SCHOOL: Thank you so much for all the bottles for St Andrew’s school. Some children and I had a lovely afternoon on Wednesday painting and decorating them to make mobiles, wind
chimes and bits for the new outdoor prayer and reflection space. Photos will follow when the area is in use next term. Sue Merrifield

GREENBELT: On Sun 28th August there will be no 10am service (but there will be one at 8am) as we are encouraging the church to attend the Sunday morning service at the Greenbelt festival in Boughton House’s gardens. It is a free event (but if you want to attend the festival you can buy day tickets). If you can offer lifts, or need a lift, please add your name to the list at the back of church.

BARN DANCE: We are considering holding a barn dance on the evening of Fri 12th Aug. If you would be interested in helping with running the evening please speak to Rev Tom.

CHURCH MAGAZINE: I should have said last Sunday that today is the deadline for items for the August-September Issue but it was missed as we were away. If you did not get my email reminder and have something you want including I will extend the deadline to noon of Wed 27th July to give you a chance to email it to me at Sorry to be a ‘payne’ but hope you can still let me have items by then. REDEVELOPEMENT PROJECT UPDATE: Come along on 7th August to find out the latest news.

ST ANDREW’S SAFEGUARDING – BOOK THE DATE On September 4th after the 10am service we will be hosting a practical training session in the hall. This will cover scenarios specific to St Andrew’s compared to the diocese online course you will have done. We hope it will give you some extra confidence in how we safeguard those in our care. If you are involved in any children’s groups with the church, it is essential you attend. If you are unable to, please let Kirsty or Clare know before August 4th

KETTERING FOOD BANK: Why not add it to your weekly shopping list? With the rise in the cost of living, the food bank is likely to be in even greater demand. It is one of the charities we are supporting at St Andrew’s Church this year. Here is a list of some of the most needed: cereal, porridge, longlife milk & longlife juice, tins of meat, fish, soup, ravioli, fruit, custard, rice pudding, beans & macaroni cheese, packets of pasta, rice & noodle meals, tea, coffee, jam, biscuits, cereal bars and crisps, toiletries etc.  Thank you for your support.  Rosalind
